Martial Arts Club called Fu Getsu Dojo was founded in 1997 by Jaroslaw Chmiel and Grzegorz Wojtaszewski. Since 2001 we have been a Otmuchow Primary School and Gimnazjum (Secondary School) unit. Ju Jitsu and Iaido are practiced at Otmuchow Gimanzjum (Krakowska St 38) in a professional training hall.
The chief instructor is Sensei Jaroslaw Chmiel who has been practicing Martial Arts since 1990. Assistant instructors are Grzegorz Wojtaszewski, Mariusz Cieslak and Jaroslaw Siudak.
Proceeding in accordance with the tradition of Arakimuninsai Ryu, after 4th Dan grading, Soke Hajime Risho Hayabuchi (present headmaster) granted Sensei Jaroslaw Chmiel a great privilege by naming him Ri Fu Getsu meaning “united with nature – nature and technique are unity”. It is a guideline/precept for us not to become deadly or lethal, but to live in harmony with nature and the surrounding world.
Such honour raised the prestige of our school as well as students’ morale which resulted in a larger number of those who are interested in Martial Arts. There are about 30 people (primary and secondary school students and adults) at our Dojo practicing both Ju Jitsu and Iaido.
We stay in touch with master-instructors from England and Japan who come to our Dojo to teach and share their priceless knowledge. We are also in contact and cooperating with other clubs in Poland which sometimes present totally different systems or schools of Martial Arts.
